JJ Murphy: Embracing a Leadership Philosophy Unique to the City of Hobbs, New Mexico

JJ Murphy developed his own leadership style he believed would fit with the employees of the City of Hobbs, New Mexico. As the City Manager, Murphy’s job entails managing a $197 million budget and helping over 500 employees achieve their goals and help the people of Hobbs as much as they can. JJ Murphy believes in servant leadership, which, in part, demands that he is there for all of his employees when they need support and to serve them by keeping morale high and workflow smooth.

 

JJ Murphy made his leadership style transparent and easy to understand for all of his employees in the Hobbs, New Mexico city administration offices.
